《翠虛篇》，宋陳楠撰。元俞琰《席上腐談》卷下據其文辭格調，疑為白玉蟾所作。卷首有真息子王思誠序，畧敘內丹大旨。

本篇包括《紫庭經》、《大道歌》、《羅浮翠虛吟》、《丹基歸一論》、《金丹詩訣》百首及詞三首。《道藏輯要》題曰《泥洹集》。其中《紫庭經》收入《修真十書》卷三，而題為薛道光撰。《修真十書》卷十七所收陳樸《翠虛篇》，副題《九轉金丹秘訣》，其文字與陳朴《內丹訣》大體相同，乃陳朴《內丹訣》之另一傳本，與本書同名異實。

《紫庭經》、《大道歌》、《羅浮翠虛吟》，皆七言長篇歌訣。《紫庭經》論丹經要旨唯在汞鉛，以“身中一畝為家園”，煉精化氣，氣凝成神，便可無為而通靈。《大道歌》主要論“真陰真陽是真道”。《羅浮翠虛吟》系陳楠銳化前付白玉蟾之訣，其中廣斥採戰御女、服氣存思等，謂《靈寶秘法》、《西山會真記》所述修法亦為非道，金丹之要在鉛汞:::字，“只取一味水中金，收拾虛無造化窟，促將百脈盡歸源，脈住氣停丹始結”（頁十）。末謂曾夜遇呂秀才，得奇訣，以太虛為爐鼎，烏兎為藥物，不論金木間隔，龍虎子母，此方為真道。

《丹基歸一論》為短文。論“一”為金丹之基。盡辟諸經論紛繁名相，謂魂魄、龍虎、鉛汞、坎離、嬰姹等，實皆一物，無非陰陽二字；守一壇、戊己戶、玄關一竅、玄牝之門、鉛爐土釜等，實皆一處；周天卦數、晝夜時刻，無非周身精氣流行之變態，天地氣數在乎一時之工夫，一陰一陽之謂道，道即金丹。

詞三首，分贈弟子，示以內丹之要，如贈白玉蟾有云：“只向離無尋坎有，移卻南辰廻北斗”（頁十六:）。

《金丹詩訣》百首，廣述內丹，其論鉛汞云：“莫向腎中求造化，卻須心裏覓先天”（頁十七論丹頭云：“丹頭只是先天氣，鍊作黃芽發玉英”（頁二二論坎離云:“但取坎精點離穴，純乾便可攝飛瓊”（頁二六:）。

本篇丹訣能披名相而直指玄要，於鍊丹過程中之感受及效驗亦多所描述，為金丹派南宗丹書中較重要者，後世丹書往往引證其說。

此嘗由七言詩、詞及一篇論文組成，撰者陳楠為內丹南宗四祖，昔在論述金丹之船呆為真陰真陽，內丹以辣氣為主。此書的撰作約在南宋寧宗嘉定年間，陳楠撰之以傳白玉蟾。

書前有真息子王思誠序，書名下題「泥丸陳真人撰」。首為〈紫庭經〉，以七言詩共一百六十句組成，押先、寒平聲韻。其次為〈大道歌〉，以七言四句詩，共一百二十四句組成，或押仄聲，或平聲。其次為〈羅浮翠虛吟〉，七言四句詩，共二百七十二句。其次〈丹基歸一論〉文一篇。其次為〈水調歌頭〉詞一首。其次〈鵲橋仙〉詞，其次〈真珠簾〉詞。其次〈金丹詩訣〉七言四句詩，共一百首，四百句。

〈大道歌〉說：「真陰真陽是真道，只在眼前何遠討，凡流歲歲燒還丹，或見青黃自云好。」修丹旨在知曉真鉛真汞，亦即是真陰真陽。此二者，由真元一氣，而分陰陽。
〈丹基歸一論〉中說明所謂鉛汞、龍虎、坎離、男女、夫婦、嬰兒姹女等等稱號，其實只是陰陽二字。而玄關一竅、神水華池、朱砂鼎、偃月爐、關元、丹田，此又皆為一處。而一年四季、一月弦望晦朔、十二時辰、二十四炁、七十二候等和八卦相配，其實「周年造化，乃周身之精氣，日夜時刻，乃精氣之變態也。其中有衰有旺，有升降，有浮沉，有清有濁。是以聖人以外象證之，殊不知天地氣數，在乎一時之工夫也。所以中間有陰陽寒暑之證，有生殺盈虧之狀，小則按百刻，大則如一年，只在一時而然也。然一時即一處也，一處即一物也，人知此之所以為一，則採取有法，運用有度，斤兩有則，水火有等，與夫抽添進退之妙，沐浴交結之奧，不無防危慮險也。」修丹中常以一年周天，來說明火候或煅煉法，其實是針對自身炁血各時辰運行變化而言。依此而行，運用心意強弱來主導陰陽二氣之運行，因而有武火、文火、沐浴等稱。武火是以強烈的心念引導，稱為進火；文火則以微小的意念運行，也稱退符。沐浴則是暫停意念，任其自然而行。
〈紫庭經〉中曾談到實修過程中，當背後夾脊關冲開時，膀胱如火燃，兩腎如湯煎的感受，文云：「一粒玄珠種玉田，十月火侯聖胎仙，九轉九朔相迥旋。初時夾脊關脈開，其次膀胱如火然，內中兩腎如湯煎，時乎挑動衝心源。心腎水火自交感，金木間隔隨使然，黃庭一氣居中宮，宮制萬象心掌權，水源清清如玉鏡，孰使河車如行船，一霎火焰飛燒天，烏魂兔魄成微塵。如斯默默覓真筌，一路逕直入靈真，分明精氣以氣存，漸漸氣積以生神。此神乃是天地精，純陽不死為真人。」上述的敘述，應是作者親身的體驗。

關於此書的撰作年代，〈羅浮翠虛吟〉說：「嘉定壬申八月秋，翠虛道人在羅浮，眼前萬事去如水，天地何處一沙鷗。吾將蛻形歸玉闕，遂以金E火候訣，說與瓊山白玉蟾，使之深識造化骨。」嘉定壬申為南宋寧宗嘉定五年(1212)，因而此書之撰作當在此年或稍後。又，〈丹基歸一論〉也說：「故作《丹經歸一論》，以付學者白玉蟾。」此皆說明了此書之作，是陳楠為了要把修丹訣法，傳授給南宗五祖白玉蟾而寫。
